Business on a budget – how to save money on PR: Part 2

Tip 5: Socialise

Social media - such as Facebook and Twitter - can be a very cheap and cost effective way to get your message and news out there.

Remember the golden rule. It has to be shareable - so ask yourself if you would really share your news. Adapt it if you need to. Make it short, punchy, fun, quirky. Attention span’s on social media are notoriously short and you need something that makes you stand out from an every growing crowd.

Contacting targeted bloggers and influencers in your particular sector or industry can also really help. Again don’t ram a release down their throats. Send an attention grabbing introduction. Ask if it interests them and say you are happy to provide more information.
